Update on Phase 2
The section around Dark Deer has now been dug out and prepared for surfacing work. Due to presence of livestock this can’t be completed until the internal fence is installed. Work on external deer fence is now underway. Work is also progressing well on AK1 path upgrade.
Timber Operations Sep-Nov
FLS has advised of timber operations impinging on the AKW from now till November. Tree felling is taking place in the yellow area on the map below. The AKW will remain open but you are asked to follow the safety signage and any instruction from contractors. Large vehicle will be using the route to transport timber.
Phase 2 Work Underway
After some unavoidable delays work has commenced on Phase 2. Initially our contractor Hitrak Ltd will deal with a very ‘wet’ section requiring a deep base. This is being installed using recyled stone from old walls within the croft.
