Film Unit in Glen Affric
Message below as received from the film company.
“Gumshoe Productions UK is currently in production of a feature film for Legendary Pictures that is due to film in the UK from January to May 2018.
We are currently planning to film for two days at the Forestry Commission site in Glen Affric. Our current schedule is as follows:
Date Work Approx. Times
Wednesday 21st March Preparation 08:00 – 18:00
Thursday 22nd March Preparation 08:00 – 18:00
Friday 23rd March Preparation 08:00 – 18:00
Saturday 24th March Filming 06:00 – 19:00
Sunday 25th March Filming 06:00 – 19:00
Monday 26th March Reinstatement 08:00 – 18:00
Tuesday 27th March Reinstatement 08:00 – 18:00
During the prep there will be a steady increase in traffic volume, with trucks going to and from the Forestry Commission Car Park at Glen Affric, as we prepare the site for when the film unit moves in on Friday.
From Friday afternoon until late evening there will be a significant amount of vehicle movement, as our large technical trucks and facilities vehicles make their way through Cannich and up to Glen Affric.
We have two units filming at Glen Affric on the two separate days, which means that after filming on the Saturday the 2nd unit trucks will move out, to be replaced shortly after by the trucks required for the Main unit. These trucks, along with all the facilities vehicles, will then move out on Sunday evening. Over the course of the three nights there will be a fair amount of large vehicle movement and, during the two filming days, there will be a considerable number of minibuses and cars transporting the cast and crew to and from Glen Affric.
On the two filming days, we will be parking all our technical vehicles in the River Affric car park and Loch Beinn á Mheadhain car park, as a result of this there will be no parking available to the public. There will also be limited parking available on the preparation and reinstatement days in the River Affric car park.
Every effort will be made to ensure we cause as little disturbance as possible during the time we are in the area. Gumshoe Productions is arranging to make a donation towards the Strathglass Community Council in appreciation of your understanding and support.
If you have any concerns at all please feel free to contact me via the details below.
Kind Regards,
Ian Lumsden
