Affric Kintail Way Route MarkerStage 4 of the Affric Kintail Way takes you from the SYHA Glen Affric Hostel to the NTS Ranger Station at Morvich. From the hostel follow the path westwards ignoring the high path into Gleann Gniomhaidh and shortly afterwards crossing the Allt Gleann Gniomhaidh by a footbridge and heading into Fionngleann. (A detour from the hostel over the River Affric by the bridge takes you to the scene of a WW2 aeroplane crash) Soon the Camban Bothy, operated and maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association, comes into view and beyond this the watershed at Cnoc Biodaig.

Having gained height along the route the descent towards Kintail now begins. The track crosses a number of streams falling from the southern slopes of Beinn Fhada and there are some small waterfalls on the steep section above the Allt Grannda. The descent continues reaching Gleann Lichd and the River Croe via two wooden bridges.

After crossing the river you arrive at Glenlicht House, owned by Edinburgh University Mountaineering Club and normally hired out to other clubs and individuals, unfortunately badly damaged in the winter storms of late 2013. Flanked on one side by Beinn Fhada and on the other by the Five Sisters of Kintail, your journey continues the length of Gleann Lichd staying close to the river all the way to the gate on the unlisted public road close to the Kintail Outdoor Centre. You will find a large number of sheep in this last section so please ensure dogs are kept fully under control. A short walk on the road takes you to journey's end at the NTS Kintail Ranger Station.
