Highland Cross 2015
The Highland Cross will take place for the 33rd consecutive year on Saturday 20th June. It is the major athletic charity fundraising event held in the Highlands – over £3.8 million raised to date. The first stage, 20 miles on foot, follows the Affric Kintail Way from Morvich via Allbeithe and the south side of Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhain to the River Affric car park where competitors mount bikes for the 30 mile cycle stage on to Beauly.
Besides having 750 participants (and support personnel) on the AKW the public road from Cannich to Glen Affric will be closed in its entirety from Fasnakyle to the River Affric car park from 1100 to 1600.
Again this may pose problems for pick ups/drop offs at River Affric so if you intend being on the AKW on the day please take the above info into account. Further updates will appear here nearer to the event.
